Allied Veterinary Service is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our dedicated team. As a Veterinary Technician Assistant, you will work closely with our Certified Veterinary Technicians to ensure compassionate care for our patients and extraordinary service for our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the triage of incoming patients as needed.
- Obtain and record vital statistics of patients.
- Safely restrain patients during procedures.
- Perform patient treatments under the guidance of a veterinary technician or DVM.
- Administer medications under the guidance of a veterinary technician or DVM.
- Maintain patient cleanliness and comfort.
- Provide food, water, and walking assistance for patients.
- Notify the veterinary technician or DVM of any changes in the patient's condition.
- Assist in basic in-house lab testing and sample preparation.
- Dispense patient prescriptions and manage pharmacy stock.
- Handle client communication, answer phone calls, and intake clients as needed.
- Record accurate medical and client information in patient records.
- Review treatment and medical records with clients, explaining discharge instructions and medications.
- Collaborate with the team to complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning checklists.
- Perform any additional duties that enhance the hospital's appearance and cleanliness.
