Dr. Sackmaster initially pursued a career in human medicine but discovered his true passion for veterinary care while volunteering with his local humane society during college. So he pivoted, earning his DVM from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023. Dr. Sackmaster has developed a strong affinity for surgery and is a skilled communicator, providing pet parents with comprehensive and compassionate information and guidance.
Outside of the ER and OR, Dr. Sackmaster enjoys backpacking and mountain biking. He indulges his creative side through baking.
