In her 20-plus year clinical career, Dr. Nelsen has always been passionate about veterinary emergency medicine. She also has exceptional people skills, forging connections with pet parents and collaborating with colleagues. In addition, she is a talented networker, establishing and maintaining connections with local veterinary colleges, technical schools, faculty, and students—underscoring her belief that sharing knowledge and resources helps the entire community to thrive.
Dr. Nelsen has lived between the Twin Cities and Wisconsin her entire life. Her family includes her husband, four sons, one daughter, and three Devon Rex cats. Disneyworld is her favorite place, and she would love to work there in her “retirement.”
