Dr. Custead is a board-certified medical oncologist with over a decade of experience in medical oncology. She earned her veterinary degree from VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010, followed by a rotating internship at Garden State Veterinary Specialists and an oncology internship under Dr. Chand Khanna in Washington, D.C. She then completed her residency and earned a master’s degree at Purdue University.
With expertise in personalized medicine, dose optimization, and metronomic chemotherapy, Dr. Custead has contributed to research in these fields and is dedicated to advancing cancer care for pets. She is passionate about clear, compassionate communication, ensuring that families fully understand their pet’s diagnosis and treatment options. Her goal is to support pet owners in making informed decisions while prioritizing quality of life.
