A Comprehensive Approach to Pet Surgery

When your pet requires surgery, either in an emergency or for a planned procedure, a whole team of professionals is involved, ensuring the utmost safety and smoothest recovery possible.

Pre-surgical planning

In addition to preparing the operating room, sterilizing equipment, and selecting appropriate surgical instruments for a particular procedure, there are several additional steps in the planning process that enhance the safety and effectiveness of surgery. Pre-operative tests for your pet might include blood work, urinalysis, radiographs, ultrasound, CT scan, or other diagnostics that are vital to the success of your pet's surgery and their health.
1

Anesthesia

Each patient is evaluated and a specific anesthetic protocol is developed for them taking into consideration their age, health, and any underlying conditions. A certified veterinary technician monitors the patient before, during, and after each procedure to ensure optimal results.
2

Pain management

Understanding the critical role of pain management in recovery, we deploy an array of advanced techniques to significantly reduce discomfort. These include epidurals (spinal pain relief injections), coccygeal spinal blocks (anesthesia applied at the base of the spine), and regional pain blocks (localized anesthesia to numb specific areas), all aimed at ensuring our patients' utmost comfort.
3

Surgery

In addition to the extensive training of our surgical team, we take immense pride in harnessing the latest technological advancements, such as our elite 4K Scope Tower. This cutting-edge tool enhances our surgical precision by providing extraordinarily clear internal views, and it's equipped with ICG capability—an innovative feature that allows us to monitor blood flow and tissue vitality in real time, ensuring the highest safety and success rates during surgeries.
4

Post-operative care

For less complex surgeries, we frequently offer the convenience of discharging pets to their loving homes on the same day. For those requiring enhanced post-operative attention, our facility is outfitted with the most modern technology and is fully staffed with a team of professionals to provide intensive care.
5

Recovery

Every pet will receive detailed instructions outlining the restrictions and recommendations for a smooth recovery. This will often include following up with your primary care veterinarian who will be sent all of your pet’s medical records to ensure continuity of care.
