When she was 10, Dr. Griffiths-Cusick went with her grandmother to a summer program at the University of Wisconsin where she learned about being a veterinarian. It convinced her that that was what she wanted to do with her life. After high school, she returned to the University of Wisconsin for her undergraduate studies, majoring in biology, then earned her DVM from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. While in veterinary school, she was impressed by the puzzle-solving skills of an emergency intern; it inspired her to choose veterinary medicine as a career. She says that seeing a sick patient respond to treatment and the joy on pet parents’ faces when they come to pick them up gives her joy.
When not on the job, Dr. Griffiths-Cusick enjoys reading, bullet journaling, playing board and video games, and spending time with her husband and three cats.
