Like many of his colleagues, Dr. Isla has always had a passion for animals and aspired to advocate for them as a career. So, after completing a double undergraduate major in molecular biology and Hispanic studies at the University of Minnesota, he earned his DVM from the UMN College of Veterinary Medicine in 2022. He considers it a privilege to help support companion animals and their families as part of his everyday job.
Outside of work, Dr. Isla loves to travel with his sister (who’s also his best friend); he finds immersion in other cultures to be tremendously rejuvenating. He also enjoys playing volleyball and pickleball with friends—and admits that they’re best at laughing their way through the games.
